Expecting? During your pregnancy it’s very important for you and your baby to eat a healthy diet. Proper nutrition helps build your baby’s brain, boosts IQ, and prevents birth defects. Incorporate these into your diet, and you’ll be doing a world of good for yourself and your baby.
- Berries: Packed with carbohydrates, vitamin C, potassium, folate, and fiber. The phytonutrients in berries have beneficial plant compounds that protect cells from damage.
- Flax Seeds & Chia Seeds: Great for healthy hair, skin and nails especially during pregnancy. These seeds contain an abundance of antioxidants, complete protein and they are also a great source of fiber.
- Green Leafy Veggies: Probably the most concentrated source of nutrition of any food. They are a rich source of minerals (including iron, calcium, potassium, and magnesium) and vitamins, including vitamins K, C, E, and many of the B vitamins.
- Organic Free Range Eggs: Loaded with protein and healthy fats. They contain more than a dozen vitamins and minerals, including choline, which is good for baby’s brain development.
- Cultured or Fermented Dairy:Yogurt, kefir or amasai are high in fat soluble vitamins like Vit. E, Vit. A, Vit. K. They’re highly important in supporting the brain and the nervous system in early development. I don’t suggest dairy that’s been ultra-pasteurized.
